 Matt and Amber Williams were married in October of 2001 after meeting each other within the church. Matt is the oldest son of Steve and Barbara Williams and has been part of City Church since it started in 1991. In addition to leading the high school youth group, Generation 2:9, both Matt and Amber serve on the worship team at church, Matt on the drums and Amber as a singer.
Amber grew up in Albuquerque and has lived here all her life except for a brief period in Denver, Colorado. Amber became a Christian at the age of 25. Her older sister was the first to be saved in the family and eventually she led Amber to the Lord and to City Church. Amber has a strong burden for teenagers and the challenges they face in today's culture. She graduated from the University of New Mexico with her degree in communications and public relations. During the week, Amber works as a radio promotions director here in Albuquerque. Matt was born in Portland, Oregon and lived there until he was 13 years old. After finishing high school in Albuquerque, Matt returned to Oregon to attend bible college through a Master’s Commission program at Living Hope Fellowship in Portland. In addition to playing drums on the worship team at City Church, Matt also enjoys working with the media ministry at the church by assembling videos with the high school youth. Matt and Amber have worked with the high school youth group at City Church since the fall of 2003. They have a strong desire to lead the youth of Albuquerque into a relationship with God. It is their hope to stir a passion in the next generation to truly serve the Lord.
